District Council 37 Delegates Endorse State Senate and Assembly Candidates for 2026 Primary Election
NEW YORK— Delegate members from District Council 37, New York City’s largest public sector union, voted last night to endorse candidates in 81 New York State Senate and Assembly districts for the June 23, 2026 Primary Election.
“The stakes have never been higher for working people as the White House continues to wage its war on organized labor, vital social programs, our neighbors, and other countries,” said Henry Garrido, Executive Director of District Council 37. “We need allies in Albany who we can count on to protect our members, invest in essential services, and help the city address its growing challenges.”
Endorsements are issued following a vigorous screening process. Candidates seeking the union’s endorsement are evaluated based on their track record and alignment with values that protect the working class and strengthen the labor movement.
