District Council 37 Delegates Endorse Candidates for 2026 Primary Election

Endorsements include U.S. House, Governor, Attorney General, Comptroller

NEW YORK— Delegate members from District Council 37, New York City’s largest public sector union, overwhelmingly approved nine congressional endorsements on Tuesday for the June 23, 2026 Primary Election.

“This is a crucial time to take a stand for democracy and justice, and we are proud to support candidates who will fight for our country, for working people, and for our neighbors,” said Henry Garrido, Executive Director of District Council 37. “In the 14 months since President Trump took office, he and his allies have wreaked havoc on the lives of millions of Americans while creating chaos abroad. We deserve leaders in Congress who have the courage to defend our rights, protect our freedoms, and stop the anti-worker onslaught this administration has unleashed.”

Endorsements are issued following a vigorous screening process. Candidates seeking endorsement are evaluated based on their track record and alignment with values that improve working conditions and uplift working families.

Congressional candidates endorsed by DC 37 for the June 23 Primary Election are:

NY 9 – Yvette Clarke

NY 10 – Dan Goldman

NY 12 – Alex Bores

NY 13 – Adriano Espaillat

NY 14 – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

On March 5, DC 37 delegates approved the endorsements of Governor Kathy Hochul, Attorney General Letitia James, and State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli. A final slate of primary endorsements, including State Senate and Assembly, will be announced in April.

The DC 37’s legendary “Green Machine” GOTV mobilization efforts are already underway as the union moves to recruit volunteers for the campaign, likely the most important midterm election in decades.

Early voting for the Democratic Primary Election takes place June 13-June 21, 2026. Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
